Y es l&oacute;gico. Porque, como de&aacute;n de la catedral compostelana, no solo ha logrado que el templo pueda ser sometido por fin a la magna rehabilitaci&oacute;n que precisaba con urgencia desde el siglo pasado, sino que ha hecho algo que, en mi opini&oacute;n particular, es a&uacute;n mucho m&aacute;s importante: <strong>devolver la ciudad de Santiago al centro de ese universo espiritual del que naci&oacute; lo que hoy llamamos Europa<\/strong>, y que anta&ntilde;o se llamaba -perm&iacute;tanme decirlo en gallego, que es la &uacute;nica lengua en la que recuerdo la voz de mi madre- a Cristiandade. No se piensa tanto, sin embargo, en la intensa labor que P&eacute;rez L&oacute;pez llev&oacute; a cabo durante d&eacute;cadas en la <strong>di&oacute;cesis de Mondo&ntilde;edo-Ferrol<\/strong>. Una labor impagable en &aacute;mbitos como el pastoral, el cultural, el educativo y, de manera muy especial, en el del compromiso con los desfavorecidos, en el de la entrega a quienes nada tienen. Buen conocedor de las mil realidades de la Galicia del norte -naci&oacute; en <strong>San Pedro do Buriz<\/strong>, en la Terra Ch&aacute;, cuyo templo restaur&oacute; y sigue cuidando; en Mondo&ntilde;edo fue desde seminarista hasta rector del Seminario, adem&aacute;s de can&oacute;nigo; y uno de sus primeros destinos como sacerdote fue la parroquia ferrolana de Caranza-, Segundo, catedr&aacute;tico de la Universidad Pontificia de Salamanca, encarna una visi&oacute;n de la<strong> Iglesia en permanente di&aacute;logo con el mundo<\/strong>. Ahora, y, tras un peque&ntilde;o par&eacute;ntesis obligado por razones de salud, ya est&aacute; de nuevo en marcha.
