Su t&iacute;tulo est&aacute; inspirado en una frase del relato de la curaci&oacute;n del hijo de un funcionario real, en el Evangelio de Juan: &laquo;Crey&oacute; el hombre en la palabra que Jes&uacute;s le hab&iacute;a dicho y se puso en camino&raquo; (Jn 4,50), aunque modifica ligeramente su expresi&oacute;n (creer la Palabra y no creer en la Palabra), pues lo que est&aacute; en juego no es solo confiar en la verdad que alguien dice, sino adherirse a Alguien que, en la palabra, se dice y nos dice. El libro tiene doce cap&iacute;tulos, la mayor parte de los cuales ofrece una reflexi&oacute;n o comentario sobre un relato del Nuevo Testamento en el que se destaca un aspecto del seguimiento. Entre ellos se intercalan tres cap&iacute;tulos que abordan de manera gen&eacute;rica un punto relevante del seguimiento: la cruz, la meta y la aventura.
