La nueva figura del bel\u00e9n fue <strong>elaborada por la artesana Mar\u00eda M\u00e9ndez Rodr\u00edguez<\/strong>, ya fallecida, una persona que elabor\u00f3 numerosos personajes para su propio bel\u00e9n artesano, que mont\u00f3 de forma ininterrumpida en Lugo entre los a\u00f1os 1973 y 1991, cuando cumpli\u00f3 75 a\u00f1os. Su dedicaci\u00f3n y talento le vali\u00f3 \"diversos premios en concursos de belenismo\", explic\u00f3 Xulio Xiz. La figura fue cedida por su hijo <strong>Ricardo Segundo L\u00f3pez<\/strong>, tambi\u00e9n escultor, que se incorporar\u00e1 a partir de ahora al equipo de bel\u00e9n, precisamente para confeccionar piezas nuevas.\r\n\r\n<strong>Del 23 de diciembre al 7 de enero el Bel\u00e9n estar\u00e1 abierto todos los d\u00edas, de 11 a 13 horas y de 16 a 19 horas<\/strong>. Durante las restantes semanas abrir\u00e1 s\u00e1bados, domingos y festivos por la tarde.\r\n\r\nEl bel\u00e9n de Begonte, uno de los m\u00e1s emblem\u00e1ticos de Galicia, fue fundado en 1972 por el entonces p\u00e1rroco, <strong>Jos\u00e9 Dom\u00ednguez Guiz\u00e1n<\/strong>, y el artista local <strong>Jos\u00e9 Rodr\u00edguez Varela<\/strong>.
