Estuvo presidida por el obispo de la di\u00f3cesis, monse\u00f1or <strong>Fernando Garc\u00eda Cadi\u00f1anos<\/strong>. En la misma concelebraron otros cinco sacerdotes.\r\n\r\nA la eucarist\u00eda asistieron el alcalde de la ciudad de Ferrol, <strong>Jos\u00e9 Manuel Rey Varela<\/strong>, la alcaldesa de Lugo, <strong>Lara M\u00e9ndez<\/strong>, as\u00ed como varios concejales de ambas corporaciones. Igualmente estuvieron presentes autoridades militares y representantes de instituciones y organizaciones sociales. Adem\u00e1s, asistieron algunos de los premiados por el concello ferrolano con las distinciones de <strong>Ferrol\u00e1ns do Ano<\/strong>, en el acto posterior a la misa que tuvo lugar en el teatro Jofre.\r\n\r\nDurante la homil\u00eda, el obispo Garc\u00eda Cadi\u00f1anos reflexion\u00f3 sobre la aportaci\u00f3n que la Iglesia realiza a la construcci\u00f3n del bien com\u00fan de la ciudad: \"<strong>Son muchas las personas e instituciones que en nuestra ciudad de Ferrol construyen y edifican la comunidad, la ciudad<\/strong>\". En ese sentido, afirm\u00f3 que \"no es bueno silenciar u ocultar por ideolog\u00edas, prejuicios, modas o nocivos secularismos todo el trabajo que desde la fe se realiza para el bien de nuestra sociedad\".
